Fragrance always marks its presence where human beings reside so as to be happy, smelly and smiley.

The human beings reside at a place called home where they live happily and the fragrance is an inevitable part for all of us. If the home is kept neat and tidy then it will always welcome guests and family members with an ultimate fragrance which might be smelly or smiley. Some people smell things differently and that it why we have to say that our home traverses between these two distinct fragrances. At times we the human beings are so busy that we don’t even sweep our house just because we are falling short of time. So this results into a smelly home and the result is that our residential area starts to telecast a fragrance that is not acceptable.

The best part in such cases is that our office colleagues, family members and at times the close friends rush to our house as if they know that we are not paying attention towards our home and it has started smelling. Mean while we make sure that those visitors are engaged with the various conversations in such a way that they could not point out that we are trying to hide the fragrance that has started to arise due to untidy home. Another trick we use is to prepare tea, coffee or the dishes like pohaa or maggi noodles so that the typical odor in our house would not be marked up by those guests or visitors.

Our friends are clever and they will try and help us to point out those untidy odors and we instantly utter that the odor is dwelling somewhere behind our home in such a way that if that visitor visits our home the next time then it has to keep mum knowing that the odor comes from outside the house and not from the inside of house. Some friends or visitors just ignore those smelly fragrances within our house and they try to escape as early as possible. For such visitors we give instant permission just because we don’t want them to inhale those fragrances arising from our untidy home. After all we are the only ones who know which area in our home stinks ridiculously and we try our best to keep the visitors away from those locations.  

One such fragrance in my house which stink the most is of curd. Well it is a delicious foodstuff till it stays into its early stage and as soon as the surrounding temperature increases, that curd odor spreads through out the kitchen and at times it just glides into the hall saying that we need to top it up with fresh milk, place it in the fridge or start blending it in the mixer so as to extract the buttermilk and extract ghee from it. The best thing in such situation is that we pour that smelly curd into the mixer utensil and look at the wall clock and say that we will be blending it within half an hour or one hour and leave the kitchen room. After about 4 to 5 hours we enter in our kitchen and guess what a smelly as well as smelliest curd fragrance is lighting up the entire home. 

 

So once this stage is achieved, we blend it instantly and we separate the buttermilk and that whitish extract which will be converted to ghee when heated. Here the buttermilk is of no use as it is the smelliest liquid which can harm our health so we drain it through the basin and at times we throw it few meters away from our home. Now if you feel that the smelly part is over; then you are wrong. As the smelliest part is that whitish whipped extract is to be heated so as to obtain the ghee. But prior to heating it we keep it in fridge for about 1 to 2 hours so that it cools down and we can extract water from that frozen buttermilk extract. As usual, we take that container outside the fridge after a day or two since we were busy with our work.

Now as that whitish extract is frozen, we keep it on table for about 1 to 2 hours. As usual we get busy with other work and we had to pick it up after 3 to 5 hours. At this point we smile because that smelly curd fragrance is still encircling the kitchen room and at times it has left its marks in the other rooms of house as well. In this way we have reached the stage where we can smile for two reasons. One is for the fragrance of this stinky whitish buttermilk extract that will evolve/arise when placed onto the gas stove. At this point every family member rub their noses and they start to utter the word “stink” as loud as possible.  

Mean while someone does the good work of switching ON the exhaust fans, ceiling fans and opening all the doors and windows of entire house so that the stinky smell goes out and let the fresh air enter into the house. After few minutes we get a smiley face as the little part of that stinky curd has been converted into ghee and now it can be used to prepare any other dish or it can be eaten up with the regular meal. In this way the fragrance always marks its presence where human beings reside so as to be happy, smelly and smiley as well.
