The first question she asked is that why do you want to prepare the cake, I said there are lots of biscuits stock and you are not having biscuits at all. I had to eat all the biscuits so we decided to prepare cake because it tastes better than having biscuits. There are lots of YouTube channels on which we can get tips to prepare cake without an oven and I do keep watching few of such cooking videos. Prior to this, I had watched one entire season of Master Chef Australia during my college days. Today, I was in a mood to try my hands at cooking so from 7 to 10 PM time frame was a leisure time. At about 8 pm, I decided to prepare the cake and by 10.13 the cake mix was ready. By 11 pm, the cake was baked.
The recipe is that we take few bourbon biscuits, removed the cream inside it and ground all the biscuits. The second thing is to add some milk to it to prepare the cake mix. But due to lockdown in our area, milk isn’t available, but we have milk powder so just added it to this grinded bourbon biscuits. Now the question arises is how can we cook it and make it fluffy without an oven. In the oven, the food gets cooked with the help of microwaves, but we didn’t have it. So we used a preheated cooker in which we placed only table salt, so that the heat will dissipate evenly and bake our cake mix placed in the cake mold. Also, the secret ingredient for baking cake in cooker is to add ENO (Which is edible soda) just before placing the cake mold inside the cooker. Now the last thing is to add cooker lid and remember we should not be use the ring of the cooker and the whistle.
The cake mold can be greased with butter or ghee so that the cake does not stick to the mold.
In this way, preheat the cooker for 10 minutes and then after placing the cake mold; cover it with cooker lid with no whistle. For the next, 30 to 40 minutes the gas flame must be on lowest setting called as simmer. While doing this gas settings, we can utter the dialoge "jaa simmeran jaa jee le apani jindagi" ham toh cake bana rahe hain :-). Now, we just have to keep the watch on time as over cooking will dry up the cake. Another thing is that during this 30 to 40 minutes time frame we can experience a cake fragrance throughout our kitchen and that’s the time when we should be awakened and rush to put off the gas. But the cake has not yet cooked and we are not supposed to remove the cooker lid soon after the gas flame is put off.
We have to again wait for about 30 to 40 minutes as the cake has to cool
down again. We should prefer to open this cooker having cake mold only when the cooker has lost its heat. Hence, after developing such a patience, we cannot reap our tasty Cake which we have prepared out of Bourbon Biscuits and that too without the oven. Following is the image of cake we can enjoy it with some heated or cold Hershey's chocolate syrup. This cake can last for a day without refrigerating.
